Square Enix Drops a Ton of Final Fantasy Info

Today in Tokyo, Square-Enix showed off their most anticipated titles to 300 lucky contest winners in a presentation full of interesting revelations.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 has now been officially announced and will be released on both PS3 and 360. Final Fantasy XIII’s Motomu Toriyama will return to direct. It is scheduled for a Japanese release sometime in 2011.

Final Fantasy Agito XIII has been renamed Final Fantasy Type Zero and will ship on 2 UMDs to stores around Japan this summer.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII, on the other hand, has not had a name change and is still confirmed to be a PS3 exclusive.

The full title of Kingdom Hearts 3DS was announced as Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance.

DISSIDIA duodecim prologus FINAL FANTASY, a prologue to Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy, is now on sale for 300 yen on the Japanese PSN with Final Fantasy VII’s Aerith as a new assist character.
