Comic book industry veteran Stan Lee, known for creating iconic characters such as the X-Men and Spider-Man, is making his own video game — with the help of a studio, of course.
Verticus is an upcoming action-adventure iOS game to be released this fall. It features a superhero story with characters, narrative, and voice-over done by Lee. Players free fall through Earth's atmosphere, avoiding obstacles and enemies while collecting materials to upgrade the their high-tech jump suit and weaponry. The goal is to stop an evil alien race known as The Obliterators.
The Dallas-based Controlled Chaos Media is developing the game, which will release for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. It's being made in conjunction with startup Moonshark and Pow! Entertainment, of which Lee is a part.
