Star Fox Zero April release date confirmed for Wii U, new details revealed

After revealing the Star Fox Zero release date in August, the game was delayed until Q1 2016 in the following month. At the turn of the year, rumors around another delay for Star Fox Zero began making rounds, saying that the game will no longer be released for the Wii U on April 22nd, 2016 and that is has been further delayed.

According to Star Fox creator Shigeru Miyamoto, Star Fox Zero will be releasing on April 22nd, 2016 for the Wii U – no further delays have hit the game. Along with the release date confirmation, Nintendo has offered more details on the upcoming game.

Star Fox Zero's plot and structure will be similar to the the N64 game, but the story and map structure are new. Zero will feature teleporters that are important to story and reveal new map paths. Each map will have alternate paths, each with different enemies, all of which lead to the final destination mode.

In addition to these details, Nintendo revealed that the Fox Amiibo will be compatible with Zero and will allow you to use the classic Arwing in the upcoming Wii U game.

Star Fox Zero will come packaged with Star Fox Guard, a game formerly called Project Gaurd.
