Back in July 2015 it was speculated that Space Jam was getting a sequel starring LeBron James. When asked about it, James responded with vague semi-answers. The rumors began when Warner Bros. filed for a new 'Space Jam' trademark and James' company, SpringHill Entertainment, signed a deal with Warner Bros..
Since there, there hasn't been much said on the existence of a potential sequel to Space Jam, but new details have come to light.
According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter, Fast & Furious and Star Trek Beyond director James Lin will be directing the film. In addition to directing the sequel, Lin is co-writing it with Andrew Dodge and Alfred Botello. Dodge previously wrote Bad Words and Botello wrote Hollywood Adventures.
The question is, what will the Space Jam 2 story be?
