Back in November 2015, CBS revealed the new Star Trek series, Star Trek: Discovery, as a 13 episode long series. The series was expected to be released on CBS and CBS All Access in January 2017 but was delayed to May 2017 in September 2016 and now it seems that May 2017 release date
A report from The Hollywood Reporter suggests that the already delayed series is getting pushed back yet again – this time indefinitely.
"This is an ambitious project; we will be flexible on a launch date if it's best for the show," reps for CBS All Access said. "We've said from the beginning it's more important to do this right than to do it fast. There is also added flexibility presenting on CBS All Access, which isn't beholden to seasonal premieres or launch windows."
While CBS suggests that the series isn't bound to any type of release date, the series has gained another cast member – James Frain as Spock's father. It appears as though the series is quite behind, considering that they are still gaining new cast members.
