The interest and rumors about an Obi-Wan solo movie are already pretty well known, even Ewan McGregor expressed interest in reprising his role to flesh out what happens between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.
But according to rumors from StarWarsNewsNet, EW writer Anthony Breznican clears the air by suggesting there won't be a stand-alone Obi-Wan movie, but that they're "Not quite done with [him] yet… in the Saga films."
The Saga films, being the numbered features and not spin-offs like Rogue One. Does this mean Obi-wan will appear in Star Wars Episode 8? We all know that he's long dead and would need to appear as a force ghost.
This also ruffles up some past theories of Rey's ancestry. Why would they bring back Obi-Wan? Well, Ewan McGregor did record new lines in The Force Awakens in the form of voices Rey heard from the lightsaber. Could it be that there's more of a connection between Rey and Obi-Wan than we've been lead to believe?
