DICE has answered a ton of questions on what is planned for Star Wars Battlefront 2. The developers answered whether we will see a Conquest mode in Battlefront 2, what type of DLC is planned, what fixes are coming and more!
In summary, a squad system is coming, online co-op is coming – but it’s a ways off, no new story content is currently planned, more flying maps are coming (not in space only), a Conquest-like mode is coming (will not be a Battlefield 1 port), team shuffling and balancing is coming, some Star Wars Battlefront 1 maps are returning, Clone Wars content is coming, character customization is coming, and more.

Can we expect all 12 locations + future DLC for arcade?
Yes, we’re working to add all multiplayer planets to Arcade for the next patch and the intent is whenever a new planet is added to the game, you will be able to play it in all core modes (including Arcade).
Can we get Supercharged Sentry halfway back to where it was in terms of duration? It’s been completely 2015 Homing Shotted, I don’t think anyone really wanted it essentially removed from play (apart from salty Officers and Assaults I guess).
We agreed that we probably overnerfed it. Next patch will include another balance pass on the Supercharged Sentry.
Any reason why we don’t have a map selector? A feature which was in the previous title?
We’re looking at adding an Era Select screen (starting with Galactic Assault as a test) in the near future.
Could we get more graphical options? I.E: Lens flare toggle, sharpness adjuster. I really liked the close to real life look of the previous title and would love to have it in Battlefront II.
Yes, we’re looking at expanding the graphics options.
Could we see a free-roam/exploration mode for filmmakers wishing to make cinematic shorts in this beautiful game? On consoles and PC that is.
Like Spectator in the previous game? Yes, but it’s not a priority at the moment.
I really love the non-holographic mod look in the menu, is that an option we could see added sometime down the line?
Yes, we’re adding one.
What are the Season plans in terms of content? A big part of the community is craving for Prequel Trilogy/Clone Wars content. I’m sure you’re aware of that already.
We are aware, yes. Seasons will vary quite drastically in content – some will large content drops with planets and heroes, while others might be more focused on overhauls and new game modes.
I love the old DLC maps from the previous title. Could we have some sort of Legacy Season re-introducing the fan favorite maps from those DLCs? (Small maps for HvV, Blast)
Definitely. Some maps from Battlefront 2015 will make their return in the upcoming patches.
I loved the up close 3rd person view when playing as a hero in the previous title. It gave a sort of intimate connection with the Hero you were playing as. Could we get a FOV slider for consoles with minimum the camera angle from the previous title, and maximum the camera angle we have now in Battlefront II?
Yes, looking into FOV sliders for consoles.
In the beta, I REALLY loved that gritty impact SFX the lightsaber hits made when hitting an enemy, and when deflecting bolts. In the full game this has been removed for some reason, could we get an option to toggle this ON/OFF?

Something that bugs me is the delay between lightsaber hit and impact it has on enemies. Again in the beta it was perfectly synchronized. Could this be re-synchronized so that the impact is coordinated with the lightsaber hit?
Yes, fixing this.
I was a fan of the very clean UI in the previous title. Could we get an option to toggle between the current UI and one which resembles the one from Battlefront 2015?
Unlikely we’ll go back to the art style for the UI, but we’re definitely aiming to improve the current visuals.
Those who have reached level 50 do not receive any rewards for leveling up. I suggest decapping the level limit to around 150-200? Or a prestige system from the Call of Duty franchise?
It’s an interesting idea. We certainly want to encourage players to not only max out their favorite characters but also collect more than one character.
Can we have team shuffling after matches?
Yes.
Can we have team balancing, so teams don’t outnumber each other?
Yes.
Can you fix the lag, please?

Does HvV need to have 4 players on each team to begin? Can’t the teams be balanced just to get started? As new players come in, they should be forced to spectate until both sides have equal numbers. Just a question to see if we can get these matches started quicker.
We’re not seeing a lot of issues with HvV games not starting quickly enough and we believe in getting the entire team lined up for both sides before kicking off the action. If this becomes a widespread issue we’ll of course reevaluate.
How about more maps for Star Fighter Assault? Perhaps some starfighter battles over open land, cities (Coruscant would rock), or through canyons and such.
Absolutely, more flying maps are coming. I don’t think they all need to be in space.
Are you gonna add more heroes and villains? How about Mace Windu, Jyn Erso, Zam Wessel, IG-88 etc.? (These are just examples NOT a carved in stone wishlist) A Jango Fett skin would be nice too. (A personal request lol)
Yes, we’re adding more Heroes and Villains. Zam Wessel is a really weird pick though.
Are we going to get Conquest mode?
We’re obviously hearing the requests about a more open, free-flowing large mode like Conquest. Not sure if porting a mode over is the right way to go, but we’re definitely working on satisfying that request.
Are you guys working on private matches?
We hope to add back Private Matches in the future, but it’s currently not a priority so it might take a while. That being said, there were several things we really wanted to add to the feature in Battlefront 2015 that I’d bring with us into this game.
Is there any planned content for the campaign mode?
Not currently in the plans, we’re mainly focusing on delivering more Arcade and other new exciting ways to play PvE. That being said, we love Iden and who knows what the future might bring!
Is a true squad system being added anytime soon?
We’re working on an improved “play with friends” system that’s not unlike a Squad System. No ETA just yet.
