Following a post detailing Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Battlefront, EA has decided to tempt players with the allure in joining the dark side — by sharing details about arguably the most menacing characters of all time, Darth Vader.
"Almost unstoppable with his melee moves, Darth Vader has a heavy Lightsaber attack for short-range uses that will come in handy fighting against a group of Rebels," EA detailed, promising "quite a lot of depth" when playing as Darth Vader.
There's the iconic Force Choke ability, which lets you strangle enemies from a distance and move them against their will. THere's also a Saber Throw move, where you throw your weapon against a group of enemies. "It's great for crowd control," senior producer Jamie Keen explained. "The Saber Throw's area of effect has been fine-tuned during development to make sure it's as powerful as should be."
As powerful as Vader, though, he can be stopped — just not in a one-on-one scenario.
“If you face off with a Villain like Darth Vader one-on-one, you’re basically done. So the best strategy is to get help from your teammates and attack together. Also, the melee Heroes and Villains are particularly vulnerable from behind, so try to avoid frontal attacks,” Keen said.
As explained previously, Heroes and Villains in Star Wars Battelfront have been designed so that the average player can enjoy these iconic characters for "around two minutes." However, a good enough player can stretch that to "around five minutes," or possibly the entire match, though EA said that's "extremely unlikely."
Star Wars Battlefront releases on November 17th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
