Electronic Arts continues to tease us, revealing today (via IGN) new concept art for Star Wars: Battlefront.
I would've rather seen some actual gameplay footage, but I'm sure there's something to be taken away from the new concept art which shows an action-packed scene set on the forest moon of Endor. On the surface, we see two Rebels, a woman with a standard blaster, and a man with a scoped rifle, flanking a pair of Stormtroopers, one with a Thermal Detonator. Behind the Stormtroopers are two AT-STs, one blasting away, the other destroyed.
So what can we get out of this?
- Star Wars: Battlefront will have multiplayer (duh!)
- There will be vehicles, and ones that are destroyed will remain on the map as set pieces you can use for cover. So maybe there's a limit to how many will be available?
- The forest moon of Endor will be a playable map
- It's going to have a much more intense, darker feel than we're used to (seriously, if the gameplay is half as intense as the concept art makes it out to be, then I'm excited)
- There will be verticality in DICE's map design aided by the Ewok village that rests atop the forest trees
That's all I've got for now, but let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
Star Wars: Battlefront is currently in development at DICE, and is on track to release sometime during the 2015 holiday season.
