When the singleplayer campaign for upcoming for Star Wars Battlefront II was announced the reaction from fans was first excitement, but it soon after, it turned to questions regarding the game's length, and it seems like they got nothing to worry about on that front.
According to David Robillard, studio producer at EA Motive, who spoke with Australian Press Start gamers can expect somewhere between five to eight hours singleplayer gameplay, something similar to a lot of multiplayer focused FPS games.
"…we thought that around 5-7, maybe 8 hours is probably a good amount of time…we wanted to stay very driven towards the Star Wars fantasy that the players are going to experience and not have it be drawn out"
Unlike the first of the rebooted Star War Battlefront, this one will come with a singleplayer campaign just like the two old-school Battlefront games did. Those old campaigns had some of the greatest Star Wars stories written so there is no surprise fans are cautiously excited for Battlefront II. But if the latest singleplayer trailer is anything to go by, fans have nothing to worry about for the five to eight hours they'll be given.
It has previously been said that Sat Wars Battlefront II would not have a paid season pass and that instead all new maps, modes, characters, and such would become available for free, so the question was if any singleplayer DLC could be expected for free or not. According to Robillard, it is too early to tell if they will make any story DLC or not, it depends on player reception and other factors.
"We’re not ready to announce anything at this time, we’ll see based on the reception the single player has, if we offer free DLC or not."
Like with everything, if enough people want it, they will make it.
Star Wars Battlefront II will be out November 17th, 2017 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC alongside a worthwhile PS4 Pro and PS4 bundle.
