Star Wars Battlefront’s free ‘Battle of Jakku’ DLC arrives tomorrow

Star Wars Battlefront's first batch of free downloadable content is set to arrive tomorrow, and comes in the form of the Battle of Jakku. For those unfamiliar, this epic battle was the pivotal moment when the New Republic confronted key Imperial holdouts on the remote desert planet, and now you'll be able to experience it in Battlefront.

As a reminder, the Battle of Jakku will bring two new maps set on the desert planet of Jakku, and will introduce the new "Turning Point" game mode. The new 40-player game mode "portrays the efforts of the Rebel Alliance to defeat the Empire following the Battle of Endor," and will see the Rebels pushing increasingly challening checkpoints while the Imperials try to defend until the countdown clock reaches zero.

Turning Point along with Battlefront's other large-scale gameplay modes (Supremacy, Walker Assault, and Fighter Squadron) will be played on the Graveyard of Giants map. Meanwhile, Blast, Drop Zone, Cargo, Droid Run, Hero Hunt, and Heroes vs. Villains will enjoy the Goazan Badlands map.

The Battle of Jakku content will be free tomorrow, December 1st, for those who pre-ordered Star Wars Battlefront. Everyone else will get the new content on December 8th. The Battle of Jakku arrives just in time for the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, where the desert planet of Jakku was first shown in the trailers.
