Star Wars: Battlefront Scarif DLC Launches Today

DICE's Rogue One tie-in DLC hits the market

After seeing the trailer last week, Star Wars: Battlefront has a new DLC dropping today. That DLC, dubbed Rogue One: Scarif , includes many features from the new movie Rogue One. Those who bought the Season Pass or Ultimate Edition of Star Wars: Battlefront should already have this DLC in their download queue on December 6. Those without  the season pass will have to wait until December 20 to pull out the new guns.

Rogue One: Scarif  has four maps set on the planet Scarif. These maps are jungle themed much like the planet and it features new characters such as Jyn Erso and Director Orson Krennic. Perhaps the biggest change brought by this DLC is a new multi-leveled stage mode that has players starting in a space battle and eventually descending to a planet to finish the fight.

To prepare for the launch, Battlefront servers were taken offline for a brief period in order to launch the DLC and updates. The patch launched in tandem but separately from the DLC, offers two new weapons called the A180 and the DT-29. It also adds a new Star Card called the Sonic Imploder that deals damage like usual but also blinds its victims. There has also been a level cap increase from 90 to 100. Like any patch, there was also balancing done to heroes.

We already know Star Wars: Battlefront had fairly split results in the fandom, with many stating it was "Too Battlefield" but EA CFO Blake Jorgenson ensures fans that the new game will be "Much bigger."
