Star Wars Battlefront Steel Book Edition gets a special bonus in Germany

This article is not about how Japan gets everything cool, but about how Germany got a special Steelbook Edition for Star Wars Battlefront – exclusively for the PS4 version. The new game bundle includes the Battlefront game, a Steelbook case and Darth Vader's lightsaber – all for $239.99 EUR.

A price of €239.99 EUR might seem a bit steep, if we were to convert the bundle's price to USD, you'd be looking at around $270. Why is a game with a special case and some fake weapon so expensive? Well, that's because you're looking at the Ferrari of lightsabers.

Hasbro's Black Series Force FX lightsaber can sell for anwhere around a low price of $175 to around $250, depending on where you purchase it from. What's so special about this lightsaber that makes it so darn expensive? Well, it was made by Hasbro under license from Lucasfilm Ltd. and features 'realistic' light effects, 'authentic' movie sounds, a real metal hilt and it comes with a display stand.

It's the stand that lets you know the lightsaber is legit. This baby was meant to be polished and gently placed in the living room that no one is allowed to go into – unless there are guests in the house. Don't even think of letting children get their hands on this, it comes with instructions, so they won't even know how to use it anyway.
