Keeping true to the promise of "more in Spring 2015," Electronic Arts has confirmed that new Star Wars: Battlefront from DICE will make its highly anticipated debut next month at Star Wars Celebration 2015. Speculation of the debut first arose last week when it was spotted that EA would have a booth at the event, but it wasn't until today that the publisher's plans were unveiled.
"We’re thrilled to share that Star Wars Battlefront will be taking part in Star Wars Celebration next month in Anaheim, CA from April 16-19. We could not think of a better or more appropriate place to debut the game officially for the first time than the premier event that celebrates the Star Wars universe and the legions of fans who have fallen in love with it," EA said.
Despite the confirmation announcement, there's still several questions regarding the debut. For starters, will it be hands-on gameplay, a theater presentation, or some other preview? Will it be the same preview shown to retailers earlier this month that received a "superb ovation"? Will whatever is shown during the event be released online for those who can't attend, or will the rest of us have to wait until E3!?
Like I said, there's still plenty of questions, and it seems like they'll go unanswered for at least a few more days. EA promised to have more information "in the coming weeks" so stay tuned. Star Wars Celebration 2015 will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center in California from April 16 through April 19. It looks like tickets to the show are still available.
