Earlier this month, it was confirme dthat Star Wars Battlefront will not offer a server browser; instead opting for a skill-based system. But speaking to PlayStation LifeStyle at TGS 2015, lead heroes designer Jamie Keen revealed it will still use dedicated servers.
"We’ll still have dedicated servers. Absolutely," Keen said. "It’s one of the hallmarks of making sure we deliver an unparalled online servers for the game."
Seeing as how Star Wars Battlefront is a multiplayer-centric game, it's nice to see it will use dedicated servers. Other high-profile multiplayer games using dedicated servers include Halo 5: Guardians and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
Last week, it was confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront's beta, planned for October, will be open to everyone, with no pre-order required.
