In addition to the incoming Beta test for Star Wars Battlefront, DICE today revealed a companion mobile app for the game, which includes the card game Base Command.
Base Command is intended to be played alongside Battlefront itself. It lets players “earn in-game Credits that unlock Star Cards, weapons, and more” for Star Wars Battlefront multiplayer, DICE said. Microtransactions have not yet been confirmed.
In addition to Base Command, Battlefront’s companion app functions as a sort of tracker, monitoring your game stats, progression, load-outs and appearances. You can also schedule notifications for when your friends are playing Star Wars Battlefront, and compare your stats to theirs.
The free companion app will become available via the App Store and Google Play sometime before Battlefront’s launch on November 17. It will also be accessible during the upcoming Beta period, which begins early October.
