Star Wars characters show their soft side and pose with adorable animals

On May 4th, residents from all over the galaxy settle their differences and come together to celebrate Star Wars day. Now, we are a couple days removed from Star Wars day, but the celebration never really ends.

Especially with Star Wars Force Awakens releasing in Decemeber!

Stormtroopers, Garindans, and Tuskan Raiders may not have too much in common (other than the fact they they wear masks — but so does Spider-Man), but they do share one common ground: the love for furry helpless critters. While these characters aren't necessarily known for their soft side, it's quite adorable to see them posing with animals.

Photographer Rohit Saxena and members of the Capital City Garrison (Eastern Ontario-based chapter of the worldwide Star Wars costuming organization, the 501st Legion) teamed up with the Ottawa Humane Society to get the word out on how awesome their animals are.

I mean, if your cat can be held by a stranger in a mask… it's got to be a cool cat, right?

This cat, however, did not look amused. I see the outstretched paw, the slightly terrified look. I've owned enough cats to see it.

"I want none of this. Unhand me!"
