While most of us are still basking in the recent trailer for Star Wars: Episode 8: The Last Jedi, Disney and Lucasfilm are unsurprisingly is looking ahead to the future. Not that anybody was wondering, but Lucasfilm announced the release date for both Star Wars Episode 9 and Indiana Jones 5. Episode 9 will hit theaters on May 24th, 2019 while Indiana Jones 5 will come the year after on July 10th, 2020.
Descriptions of both films are relatively sparse, as Episode 9, which is being directed by Colin Trevorrow, will “close out the third Star Wars trilogy” and Indiana Jones will get both its original lead, Harrison Ford, and director, Steven Spielberg back in their respective roles.
Both films are a long way off, so, for now, fans will have to settle with Episode 8 and the upcoming Han Solo spinoff film.
