Star Wars: Rogue One just hit theaters nationwide and is expected to be the second biggest December release ever, but don’t expect to see any footage on Episode VIII anytime soon.
While promoting the new film, producer Kathleen Kennedy spoke with BBC’s Lizo Mzimba and was asked about when we might see a trailer for the film. Check out her response below.

So around spring we should start to see some "stuff" for the highly anticipated follow up to The Force Awakens. Many people are speculating we may see something on Star Wars Day (aka May 4).
Plus, Kennedy also dropped the news that the Han Solo spinoff starring Alden Ehrenreich begins shooting in February.
We’re all eagerly trying to get more info on Episode VIII. We may have already learned the title of the new film, which could be called “Forces of Destiny,” and Supreme Leader Snoke will not be entirely CGI, but a gigantic puppet.
Star Wars Episode VIII hits theaters December 15, 2017, with the Han Solo film releasing May 25, 2018.
