Lucasfilm has released the Season 3 trailer for Disney XD's mega popular Star Wars Rebels spinoff series, following the conclusion of the show's panel at Star Wars Celebration Europe. The trailer is packed full of hints and name drops that will make the more dedicated Star Wars faithful squeal, not to mention a deeper look at the narrative that has been pushed forward several years since we last saw our heroes.
Chief among the name drops is the reveal (and official existence) of Grand Admiral Thrawn, arguably the most popular villain from the now-labeled, non-canon Star Wars Legends stories.
It also appears that we will be seeing fan favorite Wedge Antilles join the rebels alongside an older Ezra, a broken Kanan and a world that marches ever closer to the events of A New Hope.
What's cool about the Thrawn reveal is that it opens the door for future characters and stories from the expanded Star Wars universe that could become canon at some point in the future. And there's a ton of great content they can pull from, say…Shadows of the Empire? On that note, is it just me, or is that Dash Rendar's Outrider at 1:09?
