Star Wars: Rogue One’s Screen Crawl Exists But We’ll Probably Never See It

For those who saw Rogue One in theaters, you may have noticed the opening screen crawl that Star Wars is known for was absent. Many speculated why it was missing from the final draft. Director Gareth Edwards touches on this in a Reddit AMA.

Specifically, Edwards was asked what an opening crawl for Rogue One would say, to which he mentioned screenwriter Gary Whitta "Wrote one in the first draft."

So the Star Wars Rogue One opening crawl exists somewhere in a vault. How do we see it? Edwards gives the crowd a precise way of finding it… by looking into the stars.

Yes, according to Gareth Edwards, the words are still hanging in space in a galaxy far, far away just waiting to be read by the movie-going public!

At least the guy has a sense of humor.
