Star Wars: The Last Jedi product packing reveals a much different Rey

We haven't even seen a trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and already Disney is marketing the upcoming line of toys associated with Episode 8.

Disney and Lucasfilm today revealed product packaging for The Last Jedi, featuring Rey, Finn, and Poe front and center. Perhaps the most noteworthy spoilery feature is that Rey is holding the blue lightsaber, and it appears she has a new hairstyle as well. Unlike the hesitant, lost girl we saw in The Force Awakens, Rey appears much more cool and confident as she dons what looks like an official Padawan outfit and Luke's old blue lightsaber.

Disney also announced that The Last Jedi line of toys, collectibles, books, apparel, and more will go on sale beginning at 12:01 am on Friday, September 1, 2017. Similar to what the company did with The Force Awakens, stores around the world will celebrate Force Friday with a grand weekend-long celebration of all things Star Wars.

And like 2015's Force Friday, you can expect to see new characters from the movie unveiled in toy form. I'm sure the internet experts will be picking apart each toy for any sort of spoiler they can find.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in theaters on December 15, 2017.
