We finally know the fate of the often criticized Star Wars character Jar Jar Binks. Reported by Mashable, the new Star Wars novel, Star Wars Aftermath: Empire's End reveals that the black spot of the prequel trilogy is actually still alive!
The infamous Gungan still lives and, thanks to his failed political position, is shunned to become a clown, performing for children on the streets. For those who somehow don't know, this CGI dorkfish was a Galactic Senator in Attack of the Clones where he helped put forth the "war powers act" which put the emperor in control of the Senate, which of course lead to the death of most Jedi and the dismantling of the Republic.
"Jar Jar makin some uh-oh mistakens." Jar Jar says in Empire's End. Yep, it's actually written that way. Kuddos to the author for being authentic. Luckily, Jar Jar isn't a main focal point of the story, otherwise reading like that would be infuriating.
Of course, this was written by the author as a side story, who is not a Disney employee, so this could be seen as a simple joke, but considering Disney's tight control of the franchise, the fact that this book released officially means this is absolutely canon.
The unfortunate part is this: Jar Jar is alive. Let's hope he stays away from Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
