StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void’s new trailer gives us backstory and drama

Blizzard is known for having beautiful cinematic trailers to accompany games that don't really have the same in-game animations as their trailers. This time, when it comes to the Protoss revealing their motives to reclaim Aiur Blizzard took a different approach.

This new trailer is entirely composed of game art with milk animations – it's still pretty though. This new trailer for StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void offers a great deal of backstory for the upcoming expansion.

The expansion will wrap up the StarCraft 2 story with the Protoss looking to reclaim their home. On their journey to do so, they encounter and ancient force that must be dealt with in order for the galaxy to remain free of destruction. It's a pretty dramatic trailer to be honest, there's quite a bit of angst.

If you want to see one of those glorious cinematic trailers for Legacy of the Void, check out the opening cinematic trailer!
