Stardew Valley officially has a release date for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with future plans for the Nintendo Switch.
Back in October, the folks behind Stardew Valley announced plans to release the game on consoles. At the time, it Stardew Valley was planned to release on the Xbox One, PS4 and Wii U. However, the developers have decided to drop the Wii U port in favor of the Switch.
Stardew Valley will officially release on the PS4 and Xbox One on December 13th and 14th, respectively.
"I spent over four years developing Stardew Valley, inspired by games that I loved as a child such as Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing," wrote Eric Baron, creator of Stardew Valley. "Although the idea of a 'farming RPG' might have seemed odd at first, the games were very addictive and had a heartwarming charm that stuck with me. With Stardew Valley, my goal was to recreate that special feeling and bring it to modern platforms. Stardew Valley has been a great success on PC, and I am very excited to share it with many new people on Xbox One. I hope you'll enjoy your time in the valley!"
Stardew Valley blends Harvest Moon farming sim features, Animal Crossing socializing and some action-rpg elements like fighting monsters all into one game.
