Starfury: Refitted and Ready to Leave
Spacedock!

Latest patch adds several new features!

Cary, NC, 27 January 2004

Shrapnel Games and Malfador Machinations
would like to announce that Space Empires: Starfury has undergone another refit,
resulting in a new patch. This latest patch brings Starfury up to version 1.15
and is available for download at

http://downloads.gamezone.com/demos/d10651.htm

The first patch brought Starfury to version
1.08, and in between that patch and this current patch there were a number of
bugs squashed, and elements of the game enhanced.

Additionally, several new features were added
to the game, three of which are worth examining in detail.

By far one of the most interesting new
features of Starfury is the fact that the CD is no longer needed to play the
game. This is perfect for the gamer with the desk that looks like the aftermath
of the Hiroshima bomb. No more searching through stacks of CDs when you have
that desire to see new stars, meet exotic new species, and then blow their
starships into atomic particles.

Two features that have often been requested
by fans of the game are also now officially part of Space Empire: Starfury. The
first feature adds an inner-system waypoint to make navigation in the systems
somewhat easier. The second feature adds a visual reference to off-screen
starships, similar to the idea of a padlock in a flight sim, and allows the
player to have full situational awareness.

Space Empires: Starfury is the latest entry
in Space Empires; Malfador Machinations’ award-winning line of galactic conquest
games. Unlike previous games in the series Starfury puts the player into the
captain’s chair, as opposed to supreme planetary ruler.

As a starship captain the players are free to
explore the Space Empires universe and experience it from a perspective never
before seen. Like all Malfador Machinations products, Space Empires: Starfury is
extremely mod friendly, allowing users to customize the game as they see fit,
such as adding a Miranda light cruiser from the Star Trek universe into the game
(http://www.staryards.com/Downloads/Ships/Federation/2_TMP/Miranda/Miranda.htm).

The degree of customization means that
Starfury is a game that can easily last on a hard drive for years to come.
