Starhawk and Gravity Rush characters coming to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale next month

Sony has announced the first wave of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale DLC characters will be available next month. On February 12, fans will be able to play as Gravity Rush's Kat and Starhawk's Emmett Graves. Best of all, both of these characters will be completely free to download for the first two weeks.

Kat is described as "an up-close melee fighter who utilizes her ability to manipulate gravity to turn the tide in battle." Her ability to bend gravity allows her to dash, slide, and fly from one place to another. Sony recommends those who enjoy AP burst combos and varied mobility to play as Kat.

Emmett brings his signature "“Build & Battle” style from Starhawk, calling down different structures to aid him in battle, including Rift Extractors for AP and Flak Turrets that fire at will." Aside from his default rifle and pistol, Emmett can also call for additional weaponry in the form of shotgun and rocket launcher loadouts. The loadouts also change his level 1 super, giving him a total of five different supers to choose from.

Both new characters will have alternate costumes, Arcade Mode cutscenes, Trial Modes, and everything else the original PlayStation All-Stars characters have.

A new "Fearless" level — a mash-up between Heavenly Sword and Wipeout — will also be available for purchase in February. Those who purchase it can select the stage offline and in non-ranked lobbies, while those who choose to pass over it can still play it in online ranked games.

Sony has said more All-Stars characters willb e coming in the future, more towards March 2013.
