State of Decay infecting XBLA and PC in June

State of Decay, an open-world zombie game for XBLA and PC, will release in June.

With The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct and Dead Island Riptide just releasing, State of Decay is just another zombie game, right? WRONG! In State of Decay, you weather a blend of action and survival-horror in an open-world sandbox that develops in real-time, shaped by your actions. You're also tasked with rebuilding. You and a bunch of AI survivors will decide where to set up your fortified safe haven. Then, you'll form raiding parties to get resources and supplies, which are used to develop the community in whatever ways you need.

It sounds mightily ambitious. But Jeff Strain — former lead programmer on World of Warcraft — and his studio Undead Labs have partnered with Microsoft Studios for this endeavor. Action-survival gameplay with the ability to build a base and go on raids in an evolving open-world? Sign me up.
