State of Decay’s Xbox One release date to be announced this month

Developer Undead Labs has announced that the Xbox One release date of State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition — plus answers to some of your questions — is going to be announced some time this month. Judging by their teaser on Facebook, the announcement will probably be made later in this month at PAX South, which takes place between January 23 through January 25.

For those unfamiliar, State of Decay is a zombie-survival game set in a persistent, open-world. The Year One Survival Edition for Xbox One has been remastered in 1080p, with sharper textures, a refined user interface, and more environmental detail. Taking advantage of the Xbox One's more powerful hardware, Undead Labs has also added new environmental effects, and increased the fidelity and smoothness of character and zombie animations. The developer also promised "rock-solid frame rate" and more polish in the overall gameplay.

Aside from technical improvements, State of Decay: YOSE will also ahve some new content in the form of new missions, weapons, vehicles, and perhaps a hero or two. And lastly, both Breakdown and Lifeline DLC releases will be bundled into the game.

But first, we need that release date. So stay tuned as we continue our coverage of State of Decay heading into PAX South.
