Steam isn’t offering “special exemptions” on No Man’s Sky refunds

No Man's Sky's release was met with excitement, followed by an uproar of missed reactions. Some love the game and some hate it. The game was met with claims of false advertisement and bugs that lead to quite a few players either refunding the game or simply quitting it.

Refund policies found on GOG, Steam, and Sony are pretty much set in stone. You can't request a refund on a game once you surpass the parameters in that the policies set. Unfortunately, someone claimed that Steam and Sony were offering an exemption for people seeking refunds for No Man's Sky.

While the trick for refunding might have worked for some, Steam isn't having it.

Looking to debunk the rumor, and probably the inundation of refund requests, Steam updated the No Man's Sky store page with the following statement:

The standard Steam refund policy applies to No Man's Sky. There are no special exemptions available. Click here for more detail on the Steam refund policy.

This news will probably make the former Sony employee, who called players seeking refunds for No Man's Sky after playing 50 hours "thieves," quite happy.
