SteamWorld Dig 2 Coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Switch

Image & Form digs their way into more consoles.

SteamWorld Dig 2 is on its way. We heard that Image & Form was working on a new game from the Steamworld series after their last venture with the side-scrolling tactical RPG Steamworld HeistWe've since learned that the new title is SteamWorld Dig 2 and that we're getting it on PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

According to their website, Image & Form states that the PS4 and Steam versions will be "within a few days of the Nintendo Switch debut," which is their main focus for development, They noted that multi-platform development used to be a huge undertaking, but with the growth of their team and the advancement of technology, it makes porting their games much easier and able to reach more fans.

"Dig 2 is pretty much finished now, but we’ll take a few more months to polish the game to the level you all expect," the post mentioned. They also confirm the launch window for the game, aiming for a late Summer/early Fall release.

The original SteamWorld Dig was on the Nintendo 3DS and Vita, so a port to these is still being questioned, to which their post states, "Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita are still important to us. We won't talk more about portable versions today, but rest assured we have not forgotten where we came from."
