Stephen Colbert is in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Stephen Colbert — both host of the Colbert Report and expert of Middle-earth knowledge — is listed on IMDB's page of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug as "Laketown Spy." 

Colbert's knowledge of J.R.R. Tolkien's works are well-documented. He's the ultimate Tolkien fan. On numerous occasions, he's flexed his Tolkien brain power against the likes of James Franco and Peter Jackson. He's such a Tolkien fanboy that his wife and his two sons — Evelyn, Peter and John — are also listed in the cast for Laketown Spy.
