Steve Carell makes the end of the world look fun in “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World”

Steve Carell has a new movie out, and it… feature an asteroid about to hit earth?  I have a funny feeling that we're going to see a lot of movies about the end of the world until December 21, 2012 comes and goes.  However, this end of the world flick is different.  Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is an apocalyptic rom-com — part romantic comedy, part drama. Scroll down to watch the trailer.

After finding out that our attempt to stop an asteroid failed and that it will destroy Earth in three weeks, Steve Carell's character, Dodge, sees his wife leave him out of panic.  People don't care about anything anymore.  It is truly an anything goes couple of weeks.  People sleep with stranger without fear of STDs, so you know it's crazy.

Dodge's neighbor is Penny (Keira Knightley), and she accompanies him on his road trip to find and reunite with his high school sweetheart, but she inadvertently adds complications to his plans.

This movie looks truly unique.  It will definitely have moments that will make you laugh, but I'm sure there will be some tear-jerking moments, as well.

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World also starrs, Patton Oswalt, Adam Brody, Connie Britton, the hilarious T.J. Miller, and Rob Corddry.
