Steven Spielberg hoping to direct Chris Pratt in Disney’s Indiana Jones reboot

Last month, it was reported that Disney — which acquired the Indiana Jones rights from Paramount in 2013 — is looking to reboot the franchise with Chris Pratt, because why not?

Assuming things continue to move forward with an Indiana Jones reboot starring Chris Pratt, it's now being said that Steven Spielberg is hoping to direct the film. According to sources "from Spielberg's camp," it's still too early to determine what will happen since there's not even a script yet.

As others have pointed out, though, having Spielberg on board just makes sense, as Pratt was also hand-picked by Spielberg to star in the new Jurassic World film. Although we'll have to wait until June 12th to see how that works out and to get a better idea of how the two work together, I think the trailers have painted a promising picture so far.

Spielberg directed the first four Indiana Jones films starring Harrison Ford, but with Disney looking to move on from the aging (but still awesome) actor, who better to replace him than Pratt? The film set us up for Shia LaBeouf to take over the ol' archeological business, but the dude went off the deep end. Plus, if the last film was any indication of how an Indiana Jones film with LaBeouf as the star would shape up, then I think we can all agree that Chris Pratt is a much better choice.
