Still no info on Skyrim DLC for PS3

Almost a year after the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Bethesda is still stumped with the DLC problems being experience on PlayStation 3. Since its release we've seen the release of several downloadable content add-ons for Xbox 360 and PC, including Dawnguard and the most recent Hearthfire. Unfortunately, the PlayStation 3 has been left out in the cold due to problems that Bethesda can't see to solve, and fans are starting to lash out.

Apparently, when Sony's VP Adam Boyes said they were working with Bethesda to solve the problems, many interpreted that as Bethesda placing the blame on Sony.

"We've never blamed anyone or anything. It's our problem, and it's on us to solve it," Bethesda VP of PR and marketing Pete Hines said on Twitter. "We have never blamed Sony/PS3."

He added, "I don't have any info on Hearthfire, Dawnguard, or DLC in general for PS3. We're still on it. Will share update when I have one."

When asked to clarify exactly what hte problem with PS3 was, Hines explained, "The performance isn't good enough in all cases. For most folks, it'd be find. For some, it wouldnt."

So rather than release it and have some experience problems, it seems that Bethesda is just refraining from releasing it. Whatever the reasoning, this certainly isn't the type of thing Bethesda needs with Dishonored releasing next week. Although that game wasn't developed by Bethesda, having their name on the box might discourage PS3 owners who are fed up with Skyrim's performance from purchasing the new IP from Arkane Studios.
