Earlier today, Ubisoft announced that Watch Dogs will be released on May 27. Unfortunately, this date doesn't apply to the Wii U version of the game which will "released at a later date," according to the developer/publisher.
Watch Dogs was originally due out alongside the Xbox, PlayStation, and PC versions of the game, but was delayed back in February. At the time, Ubisoft said the Wii U version was delayed to "focus the team's resources where they could have the broadest possible benefit for both our customers and Ubisoft." In other words, to prevent further delay of all systems they decided to delay the version that'll likely have the least number of players.
“We are pleased to be able to reveal to gamers all over the world the new release date for Watch Dogs,” Ubisoft's Geoffroy Sardin said of today's announcement. “We are extremely confident that the additional time we afforded the dev team to refine and polish the game will be more than worth the wait.”
Ubisoft also released a new story trailer alongside today's announcement. See why Aiden Pearce is out for revenge.
