Story Trailer for Remedy’s exotic third-person shooter Control is here

Remedy has shared a new story trailer for their self-titled supernatural action-adventure shooter Control. Control will be releasing on August 27 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Watch the trailer here!

Remedy is ushering a new age for the company which has been making games exclusively for Microsoft’s home console and PC for the longest time now. The Finnish studio made a name for itself with 2001’s revolutionary third-person shooter Max Payne that introduced and perfected fantastic bullet time shooting in games. After a great sequel two years later, Remedy entered a partnership with Xbox and no further games came out on Sony’s consoles ever since. Alan Wake, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare and Quantum Break only ever came out for the Xbox and PC.

From developer Remedy Entertainment, this supernatural 3rd person action-adventure will challenge you to master the combination of supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments while fighting through a deep and unpredictable world.

Control is Jesse Faden’s story and her personal search for answers as she grows into the role of the Director. The world of Control has its own story, as do the allies Jesse meets along the way. Jesse works with other Bureau agents and discovers strange experiments and secrets.

With Control, Remedy is now opening up by returning as a true multi-platform developer, PlayStation users finally again being able to enjoy the Scandinavian masters of third-person shooting. Similar to Alan Wake and Quantum Break, the gameplay here is anything but predictable running and gunning. Instead, users will be welcomed by rather creative and reality-bending weaponry and skills.

But Control isn’t just trying to impress with unique gameplay. In the tech department, Control is shaping up to be a showcase title for Nvidia’s much-hyped Ray Tracing technology. It will be interesting to see how these new rendering techniques will enhance the game in the end.
