Here’s a new look at the story of Mafia: Definitive Edition

Lost Heaven has never looked this good

2K Games has shown a new cinematic trailer for their upcoming open-world crime epic Mafia: Definitive Edition. The remake is inbound for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on August 28th. Watch the trailer here!

After seeing mighty impressive screenshots of the game last month when 2K unveiled the Mafia Trilogy we now can bask in the gorgeous cinematic trailer. The remake of the ambitious open-world title from 2002 is often hailed as the progenitor of the genre alongside GTA3.

Part one of the Mafia crime saga – 1930s, Lost Heaven, IL
Re-made from the ground up, rise through the ranks of the Mafia during the Prohibition era of organized crime. After a run-in with the mob, cab driver Tommy Angelo is thrust into a deadly underworld. Initially uneasy about falling in with the Salieri crime family, Tommy soon finds that the rewards are too big to ignore.
Play a Mob Movie:
Live the life of a Prohibition-era gangster and rise through the ranks of the Mafia.
Lost Heaven, IL:
Recreated 1930’s cityscape, filled with interwar architecture, cars and culture to see, hear and interact with.
Re-Made Classic:
Faithfully recreated, with expanded story, gameplay and original score. This is the Mafia you remembered and much more.

But unlike the latter, the Mafia franchise didn’t become a cultural phenomenon. With the upcoming Mafia: Definitive Edition players can at least experience a forgotten gem in a wonderfully modern new coat of paint. There really is no other way to put it but this game is truly a visual showcase, rivaling any other high-end title.

Priced at a sweet budget point of just $39.99 and there really ought to be no more hurdles for fans of mobster films and action-packed open-world games to jump in.
