Scarlett Johansson hasn't been very vague when it comes to the upcoming live-adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. Back in April she revealed that the movie would begin filming in early 2016 to make its 2017 release.
Up until recently, the only information we've had was when the timing for the filming, the release and the two names attached to the film: Director Rupert Sanders and Scarlett Johansson.
The script for the film was originally written by William Wheeler and Jamie Moss, but it looks like DreamWorks wasn't too fond of their work. According to The Hollywood Reporter, DreamWorks called in Jonathon Herman to do an overhaul on the entire script. Herman is best known for his most recent success with the script for Straight Outta Compton, which could be great for the film.
Let's be honest, Rupert Sanders directed Snow White and the Huntsman – Herman could prove to be really good for this adaptation.
Ghost in the Shell is set to release on March 31, 2017.
