After the Superbowl trailer, the hype for Stranger Things' season 2 is even higher than it has been. Not much was known about the details other than it takes place one year after the end of season one. A new report out of Entertainment Weekly today has provided us some details on the plot along with a brand new character.
At the end of season 1, we saw Will throw up what appeared to be remnants of a creature he "encountered" in the upside down. This continues into season two as he appears to be infected by this creature. As a result, Will is experiencing visions that may or may not be real, which most likely accounts for that gigantic monster from the Superbowl trailer.
The kids will have some new friends to play with as Billy and Max (brother and sister) move into Hawkins. Max is a girl that loves the same nerd stuff they do so Lucas and Dustin, of course, are smitten. Billy, on the other hand, is apparently the evil of the upside down reincarnate into real life as he's described as a Stephen King type of villain. Last time I saw a kid that evil was McCauley Caulkin in 'The Good Son'.
Dustin apparently gets a new pet as well. This won't be your normal pet store pet, though. No, no, no. Instead, Dustin is on the receiving end of an inter-dimensional pet. No other details on this were revealed yet, so we'll just have to let our imaginations run wild.
The article goes on to reiterate that Sean Astin has begun dating Wynona Rider and Paul Reiser is a scientist at the Energy Dept, both of which we already knew.
Stranger Things season 2 will release on Halloween on Netflix.
