Street Fighter’s Ryu now available in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS

The rumors were true. Ryu, from Street Fighter, will be joining roster of fighters in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS.

He's being designed to "best resemble" his Street Fighter II form which featured six buttons. Although in Super Smash, it'll only focus on two, he'll have a wide range of moves available. Low attacks will have light, medium, and heavy versions.

What's really neat is that Ryu's attacks will change depending on how long you press and hold the button. A quick tap will be a lighter hit, while holding it longer will result in a heavier attack. You can rapidly press buttons to chain attacks.

Ryu is geared more towards dealing out combo attacks, and according to Nintendo he will feature signature moves seen in the Street Fighter games along with some new ones. Of course, his signature move Hadouken returns. As does Hurricane Kick and Shoryuken. Although Ryu's moves can be performed with simple button combos, it'll also be possible to perform them using the original command input from Street Fighter.

Ryu will be available today.  You can see the pricing details below. As you can see, the Suzaku Castle stage was also announced today. Ryu and Suzaku Castle come as a set.
