Street Fighter V beta details announced

A new post has appeared on the Playstation blog dishing out details on the upcoming beta for Street Fighter V.  The post gives new details on Characters, Stages, and Gameplay Flow and there are a few items that stick out.

All six characters will be available to play

Every character that was present in the E3 build, will be available for users to test out.  Four of the characters will be ready from the start with two more set to unlock on Saturday, July 25.  The reasoning behind this is so that the developers can test out the net code and the content delivery system.

There is no local versus mode in the Beta

Unfortunate, but understandable, the purpose of the Beta is strictly to stress test the servers with high volumes of traffic.

There will be three stages available to play

Bustling Street Side (China), Terminal Station (London) and Forgotten Waterfall (New Zealand) are where every versus match will take place.  In between battles, players will be able to train in the Grid.

Access to the Street Fighter V Beta will depend on where you reside.  Residents of the US, Canada and Latin American countries will need to Pre-Order the game while Playstation Plus members in Europe and Asia can apply for a chance to enter via PSN.

Street Fighter V is exclusive to Playstation 4 and PC and will support cross-platform play.  There is no solid release date confirmed for the game but it is expected some time in 2016.
