Street Fighter V’s next beta fully detailed, coming this month

Capcom has announced that the second Street Fighter V global beta will begin on October 22nd and run through October 25th.

The beta will feature a number of newly added features and characters, though the highlight seems to be cross-platform play between PC and PS4 users. For the first time, Capcom will open up beta access to PC users, with cross-platform play functionality being tested on October 24th and 25th. "This is a first for us and we are very excited for players across both platforms to finally have a chance to battle one another," Capcom wrote.

Not all of the announced characters will be playable during the beta. At launch, you'll be able to choose from Ken, Necalli, Vega, and R. Mika, with Rashid being added on October 23rd and Karin being added on October 24th. Unfortunately, characters from the previous beta (Ryu, Chun-Li, Cammy, Birdie, Nash, and M. Bison) will not be playable.

Other features that will be unlocked include ranked matchmaking, combined leaderboards, and player search so you can see the strategies of the top players on the leaderboard. Players will also finally be able to use Fight Money to unlock items, such as titles and "maybe even the Kanzuki Estate stage," Capcom teased. Fight Money pricing of items available to unlock and the rate at which you acquire Fight Money are both still placeholder, the company assured. Of course, as this is a beta, nothing you unlock will carry over to the next beta or final release.

PS4 owners interested in the beta can sign up through the PlayStation site here and you will be notified via email if you are selected.  Pre-ordering Street Fighter V on Steam will automatically grant PC users in all regions access to the beta. In North America, you can get guaranteed access by pre-ordering from GameStop, Amazon, Best Buy, or the PlayStation Store.

There are currently 13 of the 16 roster spots filled for Street FIghter 5 with Zangief being the latest. Who do you want to see in the game? Take a look at our requests and let us know what you think below.
