Two special editions for Street Fighter V have been revealed at the Japanese store for the game. They are priced at 12,990 and 11,990 YEN, which translates roughly to $109 and $99 USD respectively.
Each edition will come with an art book, collector's box (Vital box), a DVD about the Shadow secret society of Fei, as well as some in-game costumes and currency. The Volcanic Edition ($109) will have 1,500 in-game currency, known as Zenny, and a number of in-game character costumes, while the $99 Valuable Edtiion will only include 1,000 Zenny and fewer costumes.
The in-game currency Zenny will be earned as you play and allow you to unlock additional characters if you don't buy the season pass. According to Capcom, every character will be "free" if you want to take the time to earn the in-game Zenny. All of the details can be seen on the official Japanese store.
The prices for the special editions aren't too crazy, but we also don't get that much for $100 either. With no way of knowing how quickly you acquire Zenny in the game, we'll have to wait and see if prices correlate to a worth while investment for the money. We also checked with Capcom to see if these editions will be coming to the west, and as right now they are only available in Japan.
Street Fighter V is set to release on PS4 and PC exclusively on February 18th, 2016.
