Strike Suit Zero creators reveal tactical space combat game Fractured Space

Be at the helm of your own capital ship

From the creators of Strike Suit Zero comes a tactical space combat game for PC, Fractured Space. Edge Case Games' new title puts players "at the helm of gigantic capital ships in online, team-based space battles on a cosmic scale."

CEO of Edge Case Games, James Brooksby, said in a press release, "Fractured Space is an ambitious project we have wanted to do for quite some time, and we're very excited to now confirm its development. Above all else, we want to transmit a sense of scale to the player — the feeling of participating in a massive space battle inside their own titanic capital ship, blasting apart enemy ships and working together with other players to achieve a common objective."

Fractured Space features 5v5 matches. You pick a manufacturer, choose a class and loadout, and use Galactic Coins to purchase new ships and populate your fleet. You can also customize your ship to fill a specific role in combat. From the website, here's the description of the game:

Fractured Space is a team-based space combat game that puts you at the helm of a colossal capital ship. Each 5v5 match offers an intense cosmic skirmish, rife with deadly exchanges between craft, but underpinned by a grander strategy. Take advantage of your ship's unique abilities and weapons in order to exploit your enemy's weakness, take control of the map, and work together to execute eviscerate your opponent. Combining the best elements of competitive PvP action with the fiction and politics of popular science fiction, Fractured Space is at the forefront of a new frontier for the genre.

Fractured Space will launch on Steam Early Access later this year, and will transition to a free-to-play model upon wider release in 2015. If you are one of the Founders on Early Access, you'll get perks like exclusive ships, crew, boosters and ranks.
