Subnautica’s Standalone Expansion Below Zero live now on Early Access

In case you can't get enough of the cold outside

Fans of excellent survival sandboxes with a touch of spookiness listen up. The standalone expansion for underwater survival and crafting game Subnautica is available right now through Early Access for PC. Subnautica: Below Zero is offering an entirely new biome to explore with its arctic setting. You can grab the game on Steam, Epic Store and Discord Store for just $19.99!

Indie developer Unknown Worlds unveiled Subnautica: Below Zero last summer and about half a year later, the intriguing expansion is finally out. As an Early Access title, gamers should expect continuous game updates together with some bugs, but that’s the point of releasing a game in an early state after all. Being able to communicate with players to form a game in development to its right shape. Seeing the impressive work done by the developer prospect buyers can jump in with an ease of mind.

In Below Zero, players will find themselves at an alien research station on Planet 4546B. The very same of the original Subnautica, only one year later and at a vastly different area. The big feature of Below Zero is its focus on an arctic setting, full of frozen landscapes, new wildlife and unique items to collect and craft.

For now, Subnautica: Below Zero is only available on PC but the developer openly stated their plans to bring the expansion for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Later might be coming much sooner as Microsoft is allowing the release of incomplete and in-development games in their Game Preview program. Sony on the other hand has no own version of Early Access and thus Below Zero will come out on the PlayStation 4 only after total completion. There’s no time frame for any console release yet but those interested can at least play the regular Subnautica which is offering a similar experience.
