Success of next-gen depends on retail, says Sony

Retail will reflect the success of the PS4, Xbox 720, and Wii U, says Sony.

UK boss Fergal Gara admits the retail market has dipped in the last four years, but he doesn't view that as an sign of eventual failure.

“We’d love to see as many of those retailers as possible maintain their interest in servicing the space because clearly down the road many of us are going to be doing our best to give another injection into the market whenever the next cycle starts,” he said.

Gara believes retail will improve with the next generation of systems.
