Renowned designer Suda51 is pretty excited about the possibilities of the PlayStation 4. In fact, excited may be an understatement. According to the mind behind Killer7, No More Heroes, and the upcoming Killer Is Dead, he's absolutely "horny" about Sony's upcoming platform.
"The PS3 has been on sale for seven years but it’s still very much alive and doesn’t feel old at all," wrote Suda51 in an issue of Famitsu magazine. "The life cycle for hardware has gotten longer, I keep thinking. But saying that, I’m thrilled that we can welcome the PS4 at the end of this year."
To Suda51, the PlayStation 4 means brand new integration and new ways to play and enjoy video games. According to the dev, cloud saving becoming the standard is something revolutionary. The PlayStation 4 (and you have to assume the next generation of consoles entirely) will allow designers to create new types of gaming experiences, and it'll provide a different kind of challenge for the folks making the games — a challenge that Suda51 feels is most certainly welcome.
"That this play style will become a reality is futuristic enough," stated the Grasshopper Manufacture boss. "But in addition, cloud saving becoming standard practice is an evolution in itself. It will add new value and will surely result in new ways to play. Thinking about the future of this stuff and then constructing and outputting something appealing is our job as game designers, and from that challenge we can take new strength."
He then finalized his statements, simply saying, "And that makes me horny."
