Suda51’s Killer Is Dead comes out August 27 in U.S.

Killer Is Dead, the upcoming action game from developer Suda51 and studio Grasshopper Manufacture, arrives in North America on August 27. The Japanese and Asian version is scheduled for August 1.

Publisher Xseed Games announced the release date today. The title is coming out for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for $60. As a bonus, all standard launch copies will include an 80-page hardcover art book, a soundtrack CD that features 25 songs, and the downloadable content pack "Smooth Operator."

The DLC contains in-game items Gigolo Glasses, alternate costumes for Vivienne and Mika, an extra Gigolo mission with Betty, and an additional episode with the vampire Sebastian.

Killer Is Dead follows Mondo Zappa, a professional Executioner and weapons expert. He sets out to eliminate the world's criminals, fulfilling contract after contract.

Grasshopper Manufacture is known for other titles such as Lollipop Chainsaw, Shadows of the Damned, and No More Heroes. They're flawed games, especially of late, but Suda51 has a strong fan following.
