Super Bomberman R Getting New Characters… Vic Viper, Simon Belmont and… Pyramid Head?

Konami has had a lot of bad press in the past year or two. Specifically with the way they handled the development of Metal Gear Solid V and the departure of Hideo Kojima. But they most recently published Super Bomberman R for the Nintendo Switch and it's been getting some good feedback. Konami has announced some new bombers for the game… in the form of Vic Viper from Gradius, Pyramid Head from Silent Hill and Simon Belmont from Castlevania.

Is this weird? Yes, it's very weird. Pyramid Head and Simon Belmont are from games that are much different in tone, though admittedly, their chibi forms are cute… which is the weirdest confession ever. Gradius is closer in tone to Super Bomberman R but Vic Viper isn't a person, it's a ship! A ship with arms and legs now!

This DLC was announced today, but a release date was not revealed. However, today Super Bomberman R players will get four new stages and two new accessories today. Also, multiplayer will now run at 60fps.

It should be noted that these characters are all Konami characters… so what's next? Venom Snake Bomber?
